A skincare routine should consist of at least a few skincare essentials which you use everyday. There are, of course, many different ways to spice up your skincare regimen. However, basic skincare includes the products that should be your staples in achieving healthy and beautiful skin.
Essential skincare products are a cleanser, eye cream, moisturizer and SPF. If you wish to expand your skincare regimen, you can add, for example, toner, serum, exfoliator, (sheet / lip / sleeping) mask, face massage tool, etc.
For me, a non-negotiable skincare product I use religiously every day, except for the SPF, is the eye cream. It’s a moisturiser suited especially for delicate skin around your eyes. It prevents dry skin, can help you get rid of dark circles and fill in fine lines as well as prevent wrinkles and premature aging.

How, where & when to use the eye cream?
Eye cream is recommended to use in your evening skincare routine. Personally, I like using it in my morning skincare routine, too. On the other hand, if the eye cream includes retinol or Vitamin C, I only use it as a part of my evening skincare routine.
When it comes to eye cream, you don’t have to be generous. Only a pea-sized amount is enough. If you want to cover a larger eye area, add some more.
Work the cream between your ring fingers and apply it on the skin by tapping and then patting it. Since the eye area is very delicate, you don’t want to smudge or tug it. And why use ring fingers? Because it’s our weakest finger. That’s why you don’t have to be afraid of putting too much pressure on the delicate area.
I use the eye cream all around my eyes. Literally. I apply it:
- under my eyes
- on the upper lids
- under the eyebrows
- in the outer corner of my eyes to the temples
Tip 1: Feel free to spread it on your smile lines, too.
Tip 2: Use eye cream before any moisturiser or thicker product.

SKIN 1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Bakuchiol Eye Cream is contained in a 20 ml plastic tube with a ball-shaped dispenser. It provides a slight massage while applying the eye cream to the area. The eye cream has a creamy texture, thanks to which it glides on the skin with ease. The texture is definitely rich, yet still lightweight. It’s unscented and dye-free, suitable even for the sensitive eyes and skin.
Thanks to low molecular hyaluronic acid which is quicker and deeper to absorb, Probio-Cica Bakuchiol Eye Cream instantly hydrates delicate and sensitive eye area. The skin around the eyes is moistured, firmed and its surface is smoothed. Your gaze will immediately brighten up, too.

“Probio-Cica line is a microbiome skincare to repair damaged skin barriers and provide preventative anti-ageing care.“
I’m glad I could try Probio-Cica Bakuchiol Eye Cream out. Because my eyes and skin are sensitive, I have to pay thorough attention to the ingredient lists of various products I would like to use. Since the main ingredient is bakuchiol, also known as gentle vegan retinol, I’m not worried.
It’s widely known that bakuchiol has similar effects to retinol when it comes to skin ageing. But the main reason people prefer bakuchiol to retinol is that its irritation level is low making this ingredient better tolerable for the skin. Can be used during the day as well as at night. I experienced zero irritation while using this product.
